Margaret Gamble is a charming little sampler. Margaret embroidered a delightful basket, spilling over with flowers, framed in a strawberry vine border. She is a quick-stitch and most enjoyable to complete.

Needlepoint Inc. Silk
Martha Pettit worked her appealing Quaker spot motif sampler with expertise. She surrounded her sampler with a modest, single-row vine. The overall result is stunning. The antique sampler is conserved, so the silks were chosen from the front of the sampler. The sampler is embroidered with classic flower sprigs of blues, greens, white, and touches of pink. A yellow-winged butterfly and a pair of acorns add to the charm of this delightful sampler.
Martha Pettit was born in 1788 in Sadsbury, Chester County, Pennsylvania
